Telemetry Development Division Lead and Founder

Electrum Performance Racing Team

Founded and led a telemetry division building resilient data-acquisition and firmware systems for an electric racing team.

Highlights

  • Built a real-time data acquisition stack for high-stress electric vehicle environments.
  • Developed failsafe serial telemetry architecture, reducing data-transmission failures by 15%.
  • Improved cross-team collaboration with Fusion 360 cloud version control, cutting design iteration time by 10%.
  • Directed cost optimization that reduced manufacturing and component expenses by 35% while maintaining system reliability.
  • Engineered firmware and data workflows across multiple vehicle subsystems.

Details

I founded and led the Telemetry Development Division for the Electrum Performance Racing Team. The division connected multiple electric-vehicle subsystems through embedded firmware and serial communication workflows, with the goal of making real-time data acquisition dependable in a high-stress racing environment.

Reliability and coordination

The work focused on failsafe telemetry paths that could continue to provide useful vehicle data when communication conditions were imperfect. Firmware and serial interfaces were treated as a system boundary: they needed clear behavior, maintainable implementation, and documentation that other teams could use when integrating their own subsystems. The resulting serial architecture reduced data-transmission failures by 15%.

The role also coordinated work beyond the firmware itself, including documentation, Fusion 360 cloud version-control workflow, and cost-optimization efforts across teams. These changes cut design iteration time by 10% and reduced manufacturing and component expenses by 35% while maintaining system reliability. This made telemetry a shared engineering capability rather than a separate data task, connecting vehicle integration decisions with the reliability and maintainability of the wider racing platform.
